Wind
ivory wavelets-
remnants of the evening’s wind
scalloped in the snow
–
winter’s fury-
a tempest borne
on driven snow
ivory wavelets-
remnants of the evening’s wind
scalloped in the snow
–
winter’s fury-
a tempest borne
on driven snow
cold wind in my face-
through watering eyes I watch
hawks soar overhead
–
pure joy-
jowls flapping
in the slipstream
leafless and barren
bowed trees pledge their fealty
to the harsh north wind
–
november eve-
silver wind in
empty trees
wind rustles the leaves
and coaxes a dryad’s song
of spring from the trees
–
whispers-
forest giants
shake off the cold
the ghost of winter
runs her fingers through my hair
and kisses my neck
–
a cold wind-
blowing sand
and salt spray
a cool morning breeze-
silver waves ripple across
unmown fields of grass
–
gulls over the beach-
cattails bowed to
the rising sun
gauzy white and gray
shifting in the breeze on a
cerulean sea
–
morning sun-
dust rises from
the desert floor
golden fields of wheat-
long blades of giant windmills
lazily turning
–
arid sun-
sagebrush
swirls in wind
the fire laid on while
winter in all its fury
rages at my door
–
grey skies-
cruel winter winds
howl at the moon
sudden autumn snow-
wind blown beauty and carnage
behind in its wake
–
cold winds-
whorls and eddies
of fallen leaves
