Across the lush, verdant grass
The night air’s cold hand
reaches down and pulls my breath
in shards from my chest.
Waves lap the shore while Broken white shards of bone lie Bleaching in the sun
Bolt upright, sweating The blood pounding in my ears As the dream fades out
Fractures of lightning Illuminate the downpour Before the thunder
