Drops of falling rain,

Desperately seeking my
The night air’s cold hand
reaches down and pulls my breath
in shards from my chest.
Crimson clouds hang low.
The day’s embers glow softly,
burning down to dusk.
Draped on an elm bough Branches dapple the sunlight That warms up my cat
Waves crash on the shore As uncounted grains of sand Sift through my fingers
Annulled at midnight This day destined to return In four years from now
