winter silhouettes
a copse of sailboat masts cut
from the dawning sky
Garden
Dark flowers bloom as
Small drops of rain release the
Incense of the earth
Curves
The arc of her back
Revealed in alabaster
Carved by the moonlight
Treasure
Winter shore winds blow
Swirling my daughter’s hair as
We search for sea glass
Cobwebs
Rising from my tea
White threads of heady vapor
Clear the dross of sleep
Wisp
Dusk in the forest
Eerie tendrils of blue light
Draw me in deeper
Blues
Smoky music seeps
Through these thin apartment walls
And pools in my ears
Birdsong
A lone sandpiper
Sings his call into the wind
Out across the shoals
Return
Salt hangs in the mist
The bell from a channel buoy
Guiding me back home
Garden
Dark flowers bloom as
Small drops of rain release the
Incense of the earth
Curves
The arc of her back
Revealed in alabaster
Carved by the moonlight
