Dream
an ocean of sleep-
the receding tide leaves a
tangled mat of dreams
–
dandelion seeds-
bare whispers
of my mind
an ocean of sleep-
the receding tide leaves a
tangled mat of dreams
–
dandelion seeds-
bare whispers
of my mind
on reticent wings
under cover of darkness-
silently hunting
–
liquid moon-
a stream of bats
flows through the night sky
a sheltered hollow-
in the footsteps of winter
the last melting snow
–
mid april-
morning grass
crusted with snow
opening the blinds-
the white light of a full moon
caresses your skin
–
pounding surf-
the taste of salt
on your lips
guilded ocean waves-
just above the horizon
the last slice of sun
–
riding the waves-
fog crashes
into the beach
winter’s dying breath-
the winged herald of spring
arriving too late
–
morning frost-
tender lilac buds
robed in ice
softly glowing coals-
the gentle curve of your hips
make the snow drifts blush
–
afternoon sun-
rising streams
of snow melt
the blankets askew-
you stand before the window
glowing in moonlight
–
together asea-
with eyes the sky
and hair the sun
blue snow glories-
dry autumn leaves pushed aside
to make way for spring
–
muddy paw prints-
tracking spring
across my floors
taunting the punters-
precariously balanced
just before the plunge
–
the village fete-
powdered sugar
dusts my shirt
