Reflections
look into my eyes
and you can see your beauty
just the way I do
–
soaring gulls-
the ocean leans in
to kiss the sky
look into my eyes
and you can see your beauty
just the way I do
–
soaring gulls-
the ocean leans in
to kiss the sky
The sun sinking low
With only a few breaths left
I’m not wasting them
–
midnight-
skinny dipping
without a care
walking in the tide
my temporary footprints
too soon forgotten
–
gentle flurries-
fresh tracks lead
to the birdbath
a single starling
adrift in the sea of sky
searching for it’s flock
–
rolling sea foam-
venus takes her place
in the darkening sky
lashed tight to the mast-
tempted by the siren song
of just one more drink
–
steaming pavement-
distant sirens bay
at the full moon
shortening my stride
slowing behind old lovers
walking hand in hand
–
icy harbor-
the crush of a
rising and falling tide
so much left unsaid
I’m not sure that I can take
your icy silence
–
pools of sunshine-
the soft dripping
of melting ice
deafening silence
our civil ramparts falling
amidst the chaos
–
spring rain-
roaring floods muted
underwater
washing and scrubbing
under this scalding water
still I can’t come clean
–
coal smoke-
a cardinal
on the snow
a pair of otters
dozing in the sun floating
far out in the bay
–
bleached driftwood-
iridescent sand
on the ebb tide
