Reflections

look into my eyes
and you can see your beauty
just the way I do

soaring gulls-
the ocean leans in
to kiss the sky

Troublefree

The sun sinking low
With only a few breaths left
I’m not wasting them

midnight-
skinny dipping
without a care

Tracks

walking in the tide
my temporary footprints
too soon forgotten

gentle flurries-
fresh tracks lead
to the birdbath

Singular

a single starling
adrift in the sea of sky
searching for it’s flock

rolling sea foam-
venus takes her place
in the darkening sky

Need

lashed tight to the mast-
tempted by the siren song
of just one more drink

steaming pavement-
distant sirens bay
at the full moon

Rhythm

shortening my stride
slowing behind old lovers
walking hand in hand

icy harbor-
the crush of a
rising and falling tide

Quiet

so much left unsaid
I’m not sure that I can take
your icy silence

pools of sunshine-
the soft dripping
of melting ice

Suppression

deafening silence
our civil ramparts falling
amidst the chaos

spring rain-
roaring floods muted
underwater

Guilt

washing and scrubbing
under this scalding water
still I can’t come clean

coal smoke-
a cardinal
on the snow

Waves

a pair of otters
dozing in the sun floating
far out in the bay

bleached driftwood-
iridescent sand
on the ebb tide
