afternoon sunlight-
an old man and his grandson
asleep on the floor

sunday mornings-
step stool by the sink
shaving together

Forgive

the full solstice moon
begs forgiveness of the sun
for stealing her light

from dust to dust-
the fullness of time
forgives no one

Reveal

peeling back the dark
exposing the ugly truth
to the light of day

low tide-
broken shells
on the sand

Storm

in the western sky
the sun sets on iron clouds
promising thunder

leaves in the wind-
the low rumble
of distant thunder

Remains

a stone foundation
the remnants of a sawmill
lost to the forest

after the fire-
the chimney casts
a long shadow

Shore

a rotting boardwalk
crosses an estuary
flowing to the sea

low tide-
razor clams
burrow in the mud

Gold

waiting on the sun-
geese fly before purple clouds
embroidered in gold

reflections-
golden koi
slowly pass

Carts

an old wire pushcart-
she sits alone on her bench
surrounded by birds

under the bridge-
her shopping cart
full of treasures

Luna

mid september moon
shines behind indigo clouds
circled in silver

blushing-
the harvest moon
kissed by the sun

Lost

walking the highway-
seems I lost myself while I
was looking for you

sandstorm-
the mirage
an oasis
