Wind
sudden autumn snow-
wind blown beauty and carnage
behind in its wake
–
cold winds-
whorls and eddies
of fallen leaves
sudden autumn snow-
wind blown beauty and carnage
behind in its wake
–
cold winds-
whorls and eddies
of fallen leaves
cold new england streets-
an old oak tree holds onto
the last leaf of fall
–
first snow-
winter arrives
far too soon
jewels in the darkness-
a scattering of diamonds
in the shattered glass
–
winter‘s eve-
moonlight dances
on the fallen snow
moonlight in the trees-
silently a cold wind shifts
shadows on the snow
–
long shadows-
the warm wind
walks me home
immaturity-
unsure of how to deal with
my first streaks of gray
–
afternoon light-
test swatches
on the wall
as my eyesight fades
I think I finally see
my destination
–
a grey heron-
motionless in the
standing water
slices of the moon
slivered through the window blinds
drape across your back
–
snowy owl-
cold branches
in the dead of night
the constant north wind-
a forest of leaning trees
hunched against the cold
–
april fools-
a robin’s tracks
in the snow
nestled in the snow
a single long stemmed red rose
rests on your headstone
–
cold rain-
in the gutter
a bouquet of roses
this taste of sunshine
after the dark dry winter
barely slakes my thirst
–
crokus blossoms-
eagerly defy the
lingering winter
