Singular
a single starling
adrift in the sea of sky
searching for it’s flock
–
rolling sea foam-
venus takes her place
in the darkening sky
a single starling
adrift in the sea of sky
searching for it’s flock
–
rolling sea foam-
venus takes her place
in the darkening sky
a shy sideways glance
from you in my direction
I’m instantly hooked
–
september sky-
grass in my hair
you on my mind
gossamer weavings-
drops of early morning dew
snare the rising sun
–
birdsong-
the stillness
of false dawn
sunset through the trees
one final glory beneath
the coming of night
–
rising shadows-
silhouettes against
the dusky sky
the chill of the moon-
the sun wraps herself tightly
in the cloak of night
–
the winter sky-
delicate pearls grace
the neck of the night
tendrils of ground fog
seep down into the lowlands
just before the dawn
–
melting snow-
a silver crescent
in the mist
as the sun descends
she draws the curtain of night
to unveil the moon
–
angry lovers-
the evening sun
sets the sky aflame
in dusty boxes
glimpses of my prior life
relics of the past
–
full blood moon-
cold bony fingers
pluck at my skin
looking at myself
amid the twisted wreckage
of my ruined car
–
mourning doves-
lost in the white
of the winter sky
the sounds of fresh snow
falling in the near darkness
sibilant whispers
–
snowfall-
lost in quiet
conversation
