Singular

a single starling
adrift in the sea of sky
searching for it’s flock

rolling sea foam-
venus takes her place
in the darkening sky

Smitten

a shy sideways glance
from you in my direction
I’m instantly hooked

september sky-
grass in my hair
you on my mind

Serenity

gossamer weavings-
drops of early morning dew
snare the rising sun

birdsong-
the stillness
of false dawn

Evening

sunset through the trees
one final glory beneath
the coming of night

rising shadows-
silhouettes against
the dusky sky

Sunset

the chill of the moon-
the sun wraps herself tightly
in the cloak of night

the winter sky-
delicate pearls grace
the neck of the night

Haze

tendrils of ground fog
seep down into the lowlands
just before the dawn

melting snow-
a silver crescent
in the mist

Change

as the sun descends
she draws the curtain of night
to unveil the moon

angry lovers-
the evening sun
sets the sky aflame

Skeletons

in dusty boxes
glimpses of my prior life
relics of the past

full blood moon-
cold bony fingers
pluck at my skin

Perspective

looking at myself
amid the twisted wreckage
of my ruined car

mourning doves-
lost in the white
of the winter sky

Hushed

the sounds of fresh snow
falling in the near darkness
sibilant whispers

snowfall-
lost in quiet
conversation
