Fields
the november breeze
ushers in the harvest of
amber winter wheat
–
windblown clouds
shadows glide
over golden fields
the november breeze
ushers in the harvest of
amber winter wheat
–
windblown clouds
shadows glide
over golden fields
seeking mindfulness
and wisdom while studying
in nature’s classroom
–
spring rains
buried acorns
start to seed
leaves in the water
tumble down from rock to stone
laughing as they fall
–
autumn
slips away
from my piano
ghost of summer’s sun
ring tailed bandits in the night
making such mischief
–
october sky
arcturus settles in
to the throne of the king
flashes light the sky
the guttural wind, distant
whither comes the storm
–
laid bare
desperately
seeking shelter
wandering this earth
unseen, tired, yearning to be
finally at peace
–
midnight rain
gnarled branches
scrape my window
long morning shadows
the first sign of winter falls
from the autumn sky
–
winter’s finger
paint on my
window panes
standing in judgement
my perceived righteousness trumps
your humanity
–
seething
holding back
the avalanche
dry mouthed and sweaty
frozen in front of a crowd
my practiced speech, gone
–
black water
at the precipice
of hesitationD
a pencil thin wind
eases through balding branches
swirling russet leaves
–
mountain pines
an autumn snowfall
ices the boughs
