Remnants

footprints in the sand-
the incoming tide covers
any trace of me

amid the leaves-
an adder’s
shed skin

Evening

sleep winds through the trees-
a woodland lullaby of
peepers and croakers

a veil of clouds-
crickets and frogs
escort the moon

Chill

winter’s dying breath-
the winged herald of spring
arriving too late

morning frost-
tender lilac buds
robed in ice

Decline

social distancing-
tulip blossoms pay no heed
to the fall of man

robin’s song-
mankind’s
lament

Warming

softly glowing coals-
the gentle curve of your hips
make the snow drifts blush

afternoon sun-
rising streams
of snow melt

Radiance

the blankets askew-
you stand before the window
glowing in moonlight

together asea-
with eyes the sky
and hair the sun

Block

the day’s writing gone-
a vast expanse of paper
waiting on the muse

pen to paper-
the clock again
rolls over

Reflection

can’t tell from here if
I’m inside looking out or
outside looking in

midnight musing-
maybe I’m the one
in the mirror

Glow

sitting ‘neath the moon-
entranced by the graceful curve
of your bare shoulder

caramel skin-
silver moonlight
in your hair

Luna

full moon sunrise-
a thin spiderweb of clouds
spun across the sky

brightening skies-
the morning moon
greets the sun
