Fall
summer’s final breath-
the wind in the autumn leaves
whispering goodbye
–
a covered bridge-
fallen leaves dance
before the rain
summer’s final breath-
the wind in the autumn leaves
whispering goodbye
–
a covered bridge-
fallen leaves dance
before the rain
moonlight in her hair-
she walks along the shoreline
and into the night
–
a turtle’s splash –
the moon wavers
on the water
patiently waiting-
at the terminal rain sheets
down tinted windows
–
autumn evening-
once again
I’m alone
alone on the street
with scarcely a backwards glance
from the passers by
–
three threadbare coats-
his breath still clouds
the autumn night
living in this house-
a shrine to your past regrets
and those yet to come
–
low tide-
finding sea glass
and jellyfish
my back turned to you-
pretending to be asleep as
you climb into bed
–
angry clouds-
blue skies
forgotten
we’re only human
well, some of us anyway
the rest who can say?
–
under the covers
alone with
my mistakes
early morning moon-
fog nestles in the valleys
and clings to the leaves
–
moonrise-
gravestones hidden
in the mist
an old wire pushcart-
she sits alone on her bench
surrounded by birds
–
under the bridge-
her shopping cart
full of treasures
walking the highway-
seems I lost myself while I
was looking for you
–
sandstorm-
the mirage
an oasis
