Promise
strangers on a bus
the empty seat next to you
very enticing
–
barefoot in the grass-
your hair falling
across my shoulder
strangers on a bus
the empty seat next to you
very enticing
–
barefoot in the grass-
your hair falling
across my shoulder
living with strangers-
years torn from my memory
replayed day by day
–
dimming light-
a quiet place
to lay my head
gossamer weavings-
drops of early morning dew
snare the rising sun
–
birdsong-
the stillness
of false dawn
sunset through the trees
one final glory beneath
the coming of night
–
rising shadows-
silhouettes against
the dusky sky
deep meditation-
searching for infinity
by looking within
–
lotus blossoms-
deeply breathing
the forest peace
so much left unsaid
I’m not sure that I can take
your icy silence
–
pools of sunshine-
the soft dripping
of melting ice
the chill of the moon-
the sun wraps herself tightly
in the cloak of night
–
the winter sky-
delicate pearls grace
the neck of the night
alabaster hills
cherry blossoms harken to
the first blush of spring
–
snowdrops-
a hint of cherry
on your lips
tendrils of ground fog
seep down into the lowlands
just before the dawn
–
melting snow-
a silver crescent
in the mist
a pair of otters
dozing in the sun floating
far out in the bay
–
bleached driftwood-
iridescent sand
on the ebb tide
