Evening
lighting up the sky-
the glow of paper lanterns
adrift in the night
–
evening stroll-
the dance
of fireflies
lighting up the sky-
the glow of paper lanterns
adrift in the night
–
evening stroll-
the dance
of fireflies
the wind plays a cat
unravelling skeins of snow
as I walk along
–
the wee hours-
between my legs
a sleeping cat
starless winter skies-
ebon velvet overhead
diamond dust below
–
curls of silver-
the night sky pierced
by the moon
silver cormorants
standing by the melting edge
of a frozen lake
–
snowfall-
koi slowly swim
beneath a skin of ice
curling photographs-
remnants of an age gone by
taped to my mirror
–
sepia trees-
winter morning’s
gentle light
your head on my chest-
falling asleep together
in the afterglow
–
a warm breeze-
tangled together
in the tall grass
cracks in the pavement
mirrored by the crows feet in
a homeless man’s face
–
ruins-
ivy climbs
crumbling walls
from a different life
the passing of an old friend
rests on my shoulders
–
moonrise-
a silver wind
sways the curtains
waiting on my turn-
step by step moving forward
ever so slowly
–
traffic-
another day
turns to night
boots in the water
my line slack on the surface
suddenly pulled taut
–
low morning light-
steam rises
off the lake
