Winter
early spring flurries-
a young robin perches in
snow covered holly
–
peach sunrise-
frost glazes the
juniper berries
early spring flurries-
a young robin perches in
snow covered holly
–
peach sunrise-
frost glazes the
juniper berries
icy morning air-
tender fingers deftly tease
the breath from my chest
–
a silent stream-
ice flows from
the jagged rock
the coals put to bed-
a sugar coated landscape
greets me at sunrise
–
saturday morning-
full of promise
beyond my bed
in the morning sun
slight pockets of fog linger
on winter hillsides
–
morning mist-
migrating geese
hug the shore
the warm light of dawn
eases in through the curtains
and kisses your cheek
–
early light-
a gentle kiss on
your sleeping head
wind in the rushes-
dawn breaks on a night-heron
stalking the salt marsh
–
onshore breezes-
deep in the fen
the cattails sing
warm embers of clouds
gilded rose and violet
from the rising sun
–
dawn moon-
a crow alights
on an ashen branch
golden morning light
drapes across the pristine snow-
dark bamboo shadows
–
late afternoon-
shadows cast by
window blind
#shadows
I catch your eye as
we pass each other by but
you’re out of my league
–
noonday sun-
lions stalking
in the tall grass
an overnight storm
invades my dreams and I wake
to trees turned to glass
–
frozen rain-
crystal branches
brush the ground
