Luna
weaver of moonlight
roses follow her footsteps
wherever she roams
–
asleep-
walking with
an absent moon
weaver of moonlight
roses follow her footsteps
wherever she roams
–
asleep-
walking with
an absent moon
the new morning star
betrothed to the coming dawn
dancing with the moon
–
warm spring sun-
a beaming bride
under a shower of rice
it’s not who I am
this someone in the mirror
but who I became
–
a placid lake-
the moon’s watery
countenance
on a sea of glass-
the wind, a fickle mistress
abandoning me
–
moonless sky-
wolves howling
into the wind
weary of this need
yearning to see the sun but
your throat, so tempting
–
orion’s belt-
clouds of bats
obscure the moon
lighted by the sun
her spectral visage hanging
in the morning sky
–
slanted light-
the virgin sun
greets the moon
lashed tight to the mast-
tempted by the siren song
of just one more drink
–
steaming pavement-
distant sirens bay
at the full moon
the chill of the moon-
the sun wraps herself tightly
in the cloak of night
–
the winter sky-
delicate pearls grace
the neck of the night
in dusty boxes
glimpses of my prior life
relics of the past
–
full blood moon-
cold bony fingers
pluck at my skin
on a raven lake
the moon lies sleeping under
a blanket of stars
–
soft lapping-
the moon unwound
beside me
