Anger

dark clouds veil the sun-
abandoned by my shadow
alone once again

brooding skies-
the scowl of
thunderclouds

Risk

changing directions
deciding my journey starts
were the pavement ends

a cold wind-
stepping out
onto thin ice

Solitude

alone with my thoughts
in the distance barren trees
fade into the mist

before sunrise-
my mug of tea
gently steaming

Ferrier

a saddle blanket-
the only thing found between
my jeans and my horse

horseshoes-
the coal forge
cherry red

Desert

ghosts walk the streets of
an abandoned mining town
out of the shadows

desert shade-
sand dancing
across the road

Arc

the early morning sun
walks amid the wet grass and
turns the dew to gold

twilight-
memories of dreams
most elusive

Transition

near enough to see
daylight fading to the point
where the rain begins

tending the garden-
raindrops warm
on my neck

Ocean

the sun reaching down
tenderly kissing the edge
of the atlantic

sandpipers-
morning waves
kiss my feet

the full moon unveiled
from behind translucent clouds
poised for summer’s kiss

an owl’s call-
the full moon
follows me home

History

roaring bonfires burn-
shadows of ancient stones paint
the salisbury plain

waning daylight-
a crow stands guard
over those long dead
