Clouds
a dandelion seed
lazily drifts through the sky
as I watch the clouds
–
freshly cut grass-
making sculptures
from the clouds
a dandelion seed
lazily drifts through the sky
as I watch the clouds
–
freshly cut grass-
making sculptures
from the clouds
the sky fades to black-
another episode down
with your hand in mine
–
crisp night air-
the pleiades
overhead
searing hot asphalt-
children splash in the water
from a cracked hydrant
–
heavy branches-
in the shade
a rope swing
chocolate ice cream
slowly melting in the heat
of the summer sun
–
amber skies-
an ice cream truck
around the corner
a weathered rowboat-
mooring line gently slapping
up against the dock
–
children jumping
from the pier-
lakeside
softly he sings-
the workday forgotten as
he tends his bonsai
–
an empty bench-
pigeons await
her arrival
the scent of your hair
lingering on my pillow
greets me with the dawn
–
daybreak-
my arm draped around
your missing waist
unexpected rain-
flowing into the gutter
a child’s masterpiece
–
mountain and sky-
colors blended
on my canvas
a yellow sundress-
the scent of lilac blossoms
carried on the breeze
–
dreams of dawn-
waking memories
of jasmine
a wine glass empty
save for the mark your lips made
when kissing the rim
–
thick woolen socks-
a spark jumps
between our lips
