Renewal
through all this darkness
the seed of light we planted
finally takes root
–
snow crocus blooms-
the heady smell of
freshly turned earth
through all this darkness
the seed of light we planted
finally takes root
–
snow crocus blooms-
the heady smell of
freshly turned earth
on a raven lake
the moon lies sleeping under
a blanket of stars
–
soft lapping-
the moon unwound
beside me
falling off my bike
I become one with the earth
for just a moment
–
june twilight-
our vows float away
on paper lanterns
awash in the surf
my toes buried in the stars
strewn across the sky
–
ebb tide-
crushed shells
and hermit crabs
life can be fickle
hold your lover close tonight
before it’s too late
–
a darkened doorway-
your soft lips hard
against mine
standing at the bow
salt spray drenching your sundress
the sun in your hair
–
terns on the wing-
flecks of sea foam
floating gently past
caught in the moment
losing time watching you dance
barefoot in the rain
–
cloudburst-
green leaves on the
steaming pavement
walking in the snow
grinning as you casually
step in my footprints
–
robin tracks-
early spring
snowfall
air laced with woodsmoke
thick with a rich silence as
the rain turns to snow
–
twilight
listening to
the snow fall
lying in the grass
in quiet conversation
with the fallen leaves
–
mottled sunlight
spruce needles
murmur underfoot
