Morning
our fingers entwined-
the dusky blush of daybreak
mirrored in your face
–
the rising sun-
my finger traces
along your lips
our fingers entwined-
the dusky blush of daybreak
mirrored in your face
–
the rising sun-
my finger traces
along your lips
your face in the glass
its hard to believe were just
an ocean apart
–
cold winds-
across the table
a sideways glance
the wind plays a cat
unravelling skeins of snow
as I walk along
–
the wee hours-
between my legs
a sleeping cat
driving home alone
all the while the taste of you
lingers on my tongue
–
an awkward kiss-
moths flutter
near the porch light
your head on my chest-
falling asleep together
in the afterglow
–
a warm breeze-
tangled together
in the tall grass
a grin escapes me-
one unseen piece of salmon
stuck to my cats nose
–
in the shadows-
my petite
stalker
quietly cracking-
gentle waves frozen within
the river’s surface
–
irrigation pond-
young skaters
scarves and gloves
the incoming tide
laps the shore and erases
our sandy footprints
–
whispering surf-
driftwood
in the reeds
warm spring afternoon
rolling down a grassy hill
into a mass grave
–
wispy clouds-
grass stains and
smiling faces
waiting on my touch
your warm skin rising up in
anticipation
–
rose petals-
the taste of
your breath
