Morning

our fingers entwined-
the dusky blush of daybreak
mirrored in your face

the rising sun-
my finger traces
along your lips

Distance

your face in the glass
its hard to believe were just
an ocean apart

cold winds-
across the table
a sideways glance

Cats

the wind plays a cat
unravelling skeins of snow
as I walk along

the wee hours-
between my legs
a sleeping cat

First Date

driving home alone
all the while the taste of you
lingers on my tongue

an awkward kiss-
moths flutter
near the porch light

Passion

your head on my chest-
falling asleep together
in the afterglow

a warm breeze-
tangled together
in the tall grass

Cats

a grin escapes me-
one unseen piece of salmon
stuck to my cats nose

in the shadows-
my petite
stalker

Ice

quietly cracking-
gentle waves frozen within
the river’s surface

irrigation pond-
young skaters
scarves and gloves

Beach

the incoming tide
laps the shore and erases
our sandy footprints

whispering surf-
driftwood
in the reeds

Grass

warm spring afternoon
rolling down a grassy hill
into a mass grave

wispy clouds-
grass stains and
smiling faces

Sense

waiting on my touch
your warm skin rising up in
anticipation

rose petals-
the taste of
your breath
