Cats

two dark silhouettes
framed in the open window
sitting side by side

tails twitching-
warm dreams
in the sunlight

Morning

awake in my bed-
dawn eases through my window
gilding all I see

a web of stars-
blackbird songs
invades my dreams

Flow

the wind at your face
sundress flowing out behind
tight against your breast

out favorite elm-
your hair spilled
across my chest

Shoreline

the wind on the dunes-
playful fingers turning the
pages of my book

wet towels-
bare feet
on my dash

Morning

april’s robin song-
the morning moon rolls over
and kisses the sun

cat at my feet-
your back warm
against my chest

Flowers

lace curtains drawn back-
shadows of tiger lilies
adorning my walls

breakfast for one-
fresh cut blooms
on the table

Shore

a cool ocean breeze
comes onshore and brings the taste
of salt to my lips

low tide-
footprints of gulls
in the wet sand

Heat

my head in your hands
your eyes locked on mine pushing
hard against my lips

ripe cherries-
the sweet taste
of your seduction

Motherhood

that look in your eyes-
it’s an hour before dawn and
we need to leave now

exhausted-
more beautiful
than ever

Nothings

softly spoken words
meant for only you to hear-
whispers by your neck

our wedding duvet-
my open heart by
your sleeping ear
