Missing

picking at breakfast
sitting across the table
from the ghost of you

wilted flowers-
your whisper
in my ear

Color

bright may afternoons-
the vibrant splash of dogwoods
warm suburban yards

cirrus clouds-
among the flowers
surreptitious bees

Wedding

the new morning star
betrothed to the coming dawn
dancing with the moon

warm spring sun-
a beaming bride
under a shower of rice

Changes

cloudy desert skies
bringing the promise of rain
and with it new life

parted clouds-
fresh cut tulips
on the table

Memento

on our bedroom shelf
a collection of sea glass
each piece a moment

dogwoods-
petals stolen
by the wind

Flower

my head on your thigh
searching for divinity
in a sunflower

crimson booms
stain the pallid
melting snow

Nectar

fresh blood on my lips
my kiss, a thief in the night
stealing your warm breath

ruby throat, emerald wings-
sliding in and out of
warm honeysuckles

Spring

alabaster hills
cherry blossoms harken to
the first blush of spring

snowdrops-
a hint of cherry
on your lips

Renewal

through all this darkness
the seed of light we planted
finally takes root

snow crocus blooms-
the heady smell of
freshly turned earth

Autumn

an eclipse of moths
dancing around the asters
joyful for the fall

october dawn
sycamore seeds
drifting in the breeze
