Luna

mid september moon
shines behind indigo clouds
circled in silver

blushing-
the harvest moon
kissed by the sun

Party

under the night sky
conversation and laughter
as the fire dies down

starlight-
good friends and
wine loosened tongues

Fog

on the veranda-
fog slowly climbs the steps on
this soft starless night

walking the moon-
a thin fog blankets
fallen gravestones

Strangers

sitting on the train
I look across the aisle and
see you as you were

hot city streets-
a stranger wears
my memories

Browning

a copse of willows-
long verdant tresses brunette
in the evening light

prolonged drought-
green pastures
turn to dust

Watching

the sky fades to black-
another episode down
with your hand in mine

crisp night air-
the pleiades
overhead

White

thin fringes of white
ring the brow of the mountain
furrowed by the past

white cliffs-
the sun glints
off the sea spray

Night

walking to the car
mercury vapor street lamps
spilling blue green light

drizzle-
moths dance
in the streetlights

Summer

chocolate ice cream
slowly melting in the heat
of the summer sun

amber skies-
an ice cream truck
around the corner

Evening

ephemeral rain-
bird songs echo from the trees
in the fading light

twilight-
a grove
of amber
