Luna
mid september moon
shines behind indigo clouds
circled in silver
–
blushing-
the harvest moon
kissed by the sun
mid september moon
shines behind indigo clouds
circled in silver
–
blushing-
the harvest moon
kissed by the sun
under the night sky
conversation and laughter
as the fire dies down
–
starlight-
good friends and
wine loosened tongues
on the veranda-
fog slowly climbs the steps on
this soft starless night
–
walking the moon-
a thin fog blankets
fallen gravestones
sitting on the train
I look across the aisle and
see you as you were
–
hot city streets-
a stranger wears
my memories
a copse of willows-
long verdant tresses brunette
in the evening light
–
prolonged drought-
green pastures
turn to dust
the sky fades to black-
another episode down
with your hand in mine
–
crisp night air-
the pleiades
overhead
thin fringes of white
ring the brow of the mountain
furrowed by the past
–
white cliffs-
the sun glints
off the sea spray
walking to the car
mercury vapor street lamps
spilling blue green light
–
drizzle-
moths dance
in the streetlights
chocolate ice cream
slowly melting in the heat
of the summer sun
–
amber skies-
an ice cream truck
around the corner
ephemeral rain-
bird songs echo from the trees
in the fading light
–
twilight-
a grove
of amber
