Troublefree
The sun sinking low
With only a few breaths left
I’m not wasting them
–
midnight-
skinny dipping
without a care
The sun sinking low
With only a few breaths left
I’m not wasting them
–
midnight-
skinny dipping
without a care
sunset through the trees
one final glory beneath
the coming of night
–
rising shadows-
silhouettes against
the dusky sky
the chill of the moon-
the sun wraps herself tightly
in the cloak of night
–
the winter sky-
delicate pearls grace
the neck of the night
tendrils of ground fog
seep down into the lowlands
just before the dawn
–
melting snow-
a silver crescent
in the mist
as the sun descends
she draws the curtain of night
to unveil the moon
–
angry lovers-
the evening sun
sets the sky aflame
a large gray crane stands
fishing the shallow waters
down among the reeds
–
wingbeats-
spending ripples where
once was a fish
falling off my bike
I become one with the earth
for just a moment
–
june twilight-
our vows float away
on paper lanterns
left in a doorway
the simple offering of
a small jade Buddha
–
the slanting sun-
putting to bed the
last work of the day
frost on the windows-
heat from the radiator
rustles the curtains
–
warm boots-
glowing embers
adrift in the smoke
chasing the sunset
just over the horizon
ever out of reach
–
hoary grass-
the sky aglow in
morning twilight
