Travel

patiently waiting-
at the terminal rain sheets
down tinted windows

autumn evening-
once again
I’m alone

Homeless

alone on the street
with scarcely a backwards glance
from the passers by

three threadbare coats-
his breath still clouds
the autumn night

Regret

living in this house-
a shrine to your past regrets
and those yet to come

low tide-
finding sea glass
and jellyfish

Change

my back turned to you-
pretending to be asleep as
you climb into bed

angry clouds-
blue skies
forgotten

Fog

early morning moon-
fog nestles in the valleys
and clings to the leaves

moonrise-
gravestones hidden
in the mist

Luna

mid september moon
shines behind indigo clouds
circled in silver

blushing-
the harvest moon
kissed by the sun

Lost

walking the highway-
seems I lost myself while I
was looking for you

sandstorm-
the mirage
an oasis

Laundry

an empty basket-
warm sunlight on this week’s wash
snapping on the line

old bones-
family secrets
in the closet

Wet

barely keeping still-
my fingers brushing across
your wet ruby lips

waves lap the shore-
your hair drying in
the tropical sun

Regret

early autumn leaves-
I should have asked you to dance
the first time we met

sidewalk bistro-
I glanced at my phone
and you were gone
