Destination

leave this all behind
take my hand and run with me
into the new dawn

sunrise-
wind blown leaves
cross my path

Singular

a single starling
adrift in the sea of sky
searching for it’s flock

rolling sea foam-
venus takes her place
in the darkening sky

Lines

night in the forest
an passing train rumbling
off in the distance

distant music-
blackbirds perched
on power lines

Nectar

fresh blood on my lips
my kiss, a thief in the night
stealing your warm breath

ruby throat, emerald wings-
sliding in and out of
warm honeysuckles

Regrets

the final door closed
all the words you wouldn’t hear
and now never will

sudden frost-
orange blossoms
wither and brown

Need

lashed tight to the mast-
tempted by the siren song
of just one more drink

steaming pavement-
distant sirens bay
at the full moon

Age

living with strangers-
years torn from my memory
replayed day by day

dimming light-
a quiet place
to lay my head

Serenity

gossamer weavings-
drops of early morning dew
snare the rising sun

birdsong-
the stillness
of false dawn

Evening

sunset through the trees
one final glory beneath
the coming of night

rising shadows-
silhouettes against
the dusky sky

Depth

deep meditation-
searching for infinity
by looking within

lotus blossoms-
deeply breathing
the forest peace
