Shadow
a field of shadows-
the bargains made with myself
so swiftly broken
–
a full flower moon-
silver shadowed
daffodils
a field of shadows-
the bargains made with myself
so swiftly broken
–
a full flower moon-
silver shadowed
daffodils
the porch light goes dark-
the taste of cherry chapstick
lingers on my lips
–
lost in your garden-
crimson tulips
brush my cheek
crimson in the sun-
the first cardinal of spring
on my garden gate
–
april morning-
daffodils
in the rain
late afternoon sun
shadows of rhododendrons
dance upon my wall
–
woolen socks-
warm feet on
the windowsill
opening the blinds-
the white light of a full moon
caresses your skin
–
pounding surf-
the taste of salt
on your lips
white foam at her lips-
on ebon hooves she gallops
through the endless night
–
riderless-
the bearer of
secret horrors
raspberry brambles-
raucous bluejays fly into
pomegranate skies
–
march afternoon-
apple pies cool
in the window
the blankets askew-
you stand before the window
glowing in moonlight
–
together asea-
with eyes the sky
and hair the sun
sitting ‘neath the moon-
entranced by the graceful curve
of your bare shoulder
–
caramel skin-
silver moonlight
in your hair
blue snow glories-
dry autumn leaves pushed aside
to make way for spring
–
muddy paw prints-
tracking spring
across my floors
