Morning

above the tree tops
set in the clear morning sky
a moon cast of ice

autumn morning-
windows glazed
with hoarfrost

Mist

on a sun warmed lake
fog’s skeletal fingers reach
for the morning moon

barefoot children-
laughter coats
the evening grass

Restless

months of sundays gone-
I still just can’t get used to
sleeping without you

autumn winds-
the restless swirl
of fallen leaves

Forgive

the full solstice moon
begs forgiveness of the sun
for stealing her light

from dust to dust-
the fullness of time
forgives no one

Kristallnacht

pale silver moonlight
captured in the broken glass
strewn across the street

autum eve-
crickets silenced
by shattering glass

Waiting

my bedside vigil-
each moment slipping away
taking you with them

machines hum-
outside your window
a starless night

Frost

an overnight frost-
reluctant to let go of
these summer evenings

a new day born-
on the pumpkins
a touch ol frost

Fire

grey dying embers-
on rising smoke the campfire
draws its final breath

evening dew-
cooling ashes and
echoes of laughter

Fall

summer’s final breath-
the wind in the autumn leaves
whispering goodbye

a covered bridge-
fallen leaves dance
before the rain

Homeless

alone on the street
with scarcely a backwards glance
from the passers by

three threadbare coats-
his breath still clouds
the autumn night
