Troublefree
The sun sinking low
With only a few breaths left
I’m not wasting them
–
midnight-
skinny dipping
without a care
The sun sinking low
With only a few breaths left
I’m not wasting them
–
midnight-
skinny dipping
without a care
lighted by the sun
her spectral visage hanging
in the morning sky
–
slanted light-
the virgin sun
greets the moon
every nerve exposed-
in the comfort of her mind
she shuts out the world
–
long afternoon shadows-
an old rocking horse
threadbare and faded
a single starling
adrift in the sea of sky
searching for it’s flock
–
rolling sea foam-
venus takes her place
in the darkening sky
the final door closed
all the words you wouldn’t hear
and now never will
–
sudden frost-
orange blossoms
wither and brown
a shy sideways glance
from you in my direction
I’m instantly hooked
–
september sky-
grass in my hair
you on my mind
lashed tight to the mast-
tempted by the siren song
of just one more drink
–
steaming pavement-
distant sirens bay
at the full moon
sunset through the trees
one final glory beneath
the coming of night
–
rising shadows-
silhouettes against
the dusky sky
so much left unsaid
I’m not sure that I can take
your icy silence
–
pools of sunshine-
the soft dripping
of melting ice
deafening silence
our civil ramparts falling
amidst the chaos
–
spring rain-
roaring floods muted
underwater
