Sculpted

inhaling my breath-
fresh clay from the river banks
shaped in my image

amber leaves-
a broken vessel
returned to the earth

Snare

trapped in the darkness
never wanting to leave this
beautiful nightmare

hoarfrost-
webs frozen
on the moor

Crystal

a glass dragonfly
darts through the air and alights
on my upturned palm

low winter sun-
stained glass
painting the wall

Wool

cut from the same cloth
the two of us holding fast
lest it unravel

sheep shearing-
lost in thought
or so it seems

Creation

telling my story
words spilling off of my tongue
and into your ears

snowfall-
the chasm
of a blank page

Rain

drops of quicksilver
balanced precariously
on a blade of grass

stained glass-
the palette
heavy rain

Dirifting

intently watching
as the castle in the sky
slowly drifts apart

drifting snow-
together leading
separate lives

Time

much have I witnessed
during my earthly journey
and I am humbled

etched in stone-
recounting our
shared history

Color

bright may afternoons-
the vibrant splash of dogwoods
warm suburban yards

cirrus clouds-
among the flowers
surreptitious bees

Nectar

fresh blood on my lips
my kiss, a thief in the night
stealing your warm breath

ruby throat, emerald wings-
sliding in and out of
warm honeysuckles
