Sculpted
inhaling my breath-
fresh clay from the river banks
shaped in my image
–
amber leaves-
a broken vessel
returned to the earth
inhaling my breath-
fresh clay from the river banks
shaped in my image
–
amber leaves-
a broken vessel
returned to the earth
trapped in the darkness
never wanting to leave this
beautiful nightmare
–
hoarfrost-
webs frozen
on the moor
a glass dragonfly
darts through the air and alights
on my upturned palm
–
low winter sun-
stained glass
painting the wall
cut from the same cloth
the two of us holding fast
lest it unravel
–
sheep shearing-
lost in thought
or so it seems
telling my story
words spilling off of my tongue
and into your ears
–
snowfall-
the chasm
of a blank page
drops of quicksilver
balanced precariously
on a blade of grass
–
stained glass-
the palette
heavy rain
intently watching
as the castle in the sky
slowly drifts apart
–
drifting snow-
together leading
separate lives
much have I witnessed
during my earthly journey
and I am humbled
–
etched in stone-
recounting our
shared history
bright may afternoons-
the vibrant splash of dogwoods
warm suburban yards
–
cirrus clouds-
among the flowers
surreptitious bees
fresh blood on my lips
my kiss, a thief in the night
stealing your warm breath
–
ruby throat, emerald wings-
sliding in and out of
warm honeysuckles
