Frost

icy autumn breath
a sliver of the full moon
gazes down on me

morning run-
frozen leaves
crunch underfoot

Leaves

a single oak leaf
silently floats through the air
under azure skies

twelve again-
shuffling through
a pile of leaves

Scotland

coastal bittersweet-
north winds blow the raging sea
against the breakers

highland cliffs-
amethyst heather
in bloom

Sunlight

sensing acceptace
evil walks in the daylight
no longer afraid

sunlight-
insects scatter
from prying eyes

Reckoning

staring at myself-
the bottom of a shot glass
looking back at me

oasis-
an empty carcass
in the sand

Silver

waning pewter clouds
part to reveal the dark moon
hidden in plain sight

silver threads-
weaving by
moonlight

Plummet

disoriented
twisted, I fall through my dreams
and land in my bed

ephemeral-
fire across
the evening sky

Sun

the fall of the year-
bare limbs of towering trees
reaching for the sun

sunrise-
amber leaves
on the water

Lost

years of wasted time
of opportunities lost
and then you were gone

ancient water-
black scales sink
beneath the surface

Chill

late autumn evenings-
tarnished copper trees framing
skies of polished bronze

crisp air-
hunting in
the night sky
