Gouache
curling photographs-
remnants of an age gone by
taped to my mirror
–
sepia trees-
winter morning’s
gentle light
curling photographs-
remnants of an age gone by
taped to my mirror
–
sepia trees-
winter morning’s
gentle light
your head on my chest-
falling asleep together
in the afterglow
–
a warm breeze-
tangled together
in the tall grass
the time has come to
take my heart down off the shelf
and gift it to you
–
long winter shadows-
a snowshoe hare
braves the sun
a grin escapes me-
one unseen piece of salmon
stuck to my cats nose
–
in the shadows-
my petite
stalker
cracks in the pavement
mirrored by the crows feet in
a homeless man’s face
–
ruins-
ivy climbs
crumbling walls
long icicles cling
tenaciously to the rocks
and flow to the ground
–
ice jam
the rising waters
chill my soul
from a different life
the passing of an old friend
rests on my shoulders
–
moonrise-
a silver wind
sways the curtains
waiting on my turn-
step by step moving forward
ever so slowly
–
traffic-
another day
turns to night
caught out in squall
running through the rain, wet hair
plastered to her head
–
evening rain-
stepping from
a warm bath
the black charred remnants
of forty years of marriage
smolder between us
–
a fallen tree-
reduced
to ash
