Reflections
look into my eyes
and you can see your beauty
just the way I do
–
soaring gulls-
the ocean leans in
to kiss the sky
look into my eyes
and you can see your beauty
just the way I do
–
soaring gulls-
the ocean leans in
to kiss the sky
The sun sinking low
With only a few breaths left
I’m not wasting them
–
midnight-
skinny dipping
without a care
staring at myself
the mirror reflecting my
wasted innocence
–
shoeless-
a ragged doll
on dusty road
lighted by the sun
her spectral visage hanging
in the morning sky
–
slanted light-
the virgin sun
greets the moon
a banging screen door
the ghosts of conversations
echo in the wind
–
merciless sun –
the empty ring
of wind chimes
every nerve exposed-
in the comfort of her mind
she shuts out the world
–
long afternoon shadows-
an old rocking horse
threadbare and faded
leave this all behind
take my hand and run with me
into the new dawn
–
sunrise-
wind blown leaves
cross my path
walking in the tide
my temporary footprints
too soon forgotten
–
gentle flurries-
fresh tracks lead
to the birdbath
whole conversations
pass with just a knowing glance
incomplete silence
–
a heartbeat-
one moment
our lifetime
a single starling
adrift in the sea of sky
searching for it’s flock
–
rolling sea foam-
venus takes her place
in the darkening sky
